In Gaza, Hopes for a Transformed and Improved Urban Setting

While the strip’s future has never seemed more uncertain or its present more crushed, it is imperative to imagine and prepare for a better place

I share below an excellent and interesting article published in New Lines Magazine. Of course no mention that the 7th October was a breach of a ceasefire and that Hamas has no interest in the wellbeing of the Gazan population beyond tunnels, weaponry and fighters in its aim to kill all Jews and destroy Israel. In the same way, the author doesn’t mention that the seaport / airport project for Gaza was once promoted and supported by the Israeli Government…

Nevertheless, it’s a great description of what will be possible post-Hamas (and post-Netanyahu), once a renewed, democratised Palestinian Authority can take over in strong partnership with Israel & Arab countries supported by the US, the EU etc.

The precondition is not a premature ceasefire but the complete surrender or defeat of Hamas. The sooner the better!
