Henri Astier
initially shared:
Honduras 0 – Switzerland 3 (sonnet)
His power, speed, precision, poise were awesome
I don’t know what they put in his daiquiri
But England’s lads could certainly have used some
Honduras, well, they played just like Honduras
The kicks confined mostly to shins and thighs
I’m told their games are turned down by insurers
If it is true, well, this is no surprise
In open play their fate was quickly sealed
I’ve rarely seen limp balls like Figueroa’s!
And on the counter forwards moved upfield
With all the pace and grace of ride-on mowers
The Swiss are through – an outcome that should please
We will soon see if they cut bigger cheese
