Peut-on être marxiste et célébrer Noël? Avec un sapin? Socialism in an Age of Waiting nous apprend que les premières générations se sont posé la question et que certains, comme Eleanor Marx, la propre fille de Karl, ont répondu par l’affirmative. Avec un argument de choc: il faut imiter les chrétiens qui ont repris une coutume païenne pour célébrer la lumière. Or le but du socialisme est bien de faire advenir sa lumière et de dissiper les ténèbres de la terre.
